Oh Intelli in Pasadena, I have missed thee. I’m thankful for low-key, sweet, blessed, Saturday late-afternoons, spent chatting/fellowshipping over really really good coffee.
Yesterday, I made pot roast for the first time in my life. I don’t like cooking with recipes so I browsed various ingredients people have used and then added my own. I let the 5 lbs of cow rest in my crock-pot for about 10 hours with some root-veggies. I was nervous and a bit skeptical of how it would turn out. But hooray! It was decent! No one barfed it up. And even got seconds! Since I was too busy shoving my face, I forgot to take a photo. So here is this one – it’s the leftovers I brought in for my lunch today. It looks gross in the photo, but I promise, it tasted good.
I’ve been joking around with T whenever someone gets a prettier heart on their lattes than I get. It’s all in jest and he knows I really don’t put any weight on the appearance of the heart (latte). But on Tuesday morning, when he made me this one, he was quite happy with it. And it is quite lovely. Yeah, possibly one of the loveliest. So I declared my glee at finally getting a purty heart out of the Barista. Poor Barista. For the record, I appreciate all the latte (he)arts.
After our before-the-sun-wakes-up run, T served up his usual coffee drinks for the rest of us weary (but happy) runners. We had some v-ice cream from my favorite (Handel’s) last night ’cause we had affogato. I don’t know why, but I wanted some this morning. So, how early is TOO early for some lil’ v-ice cream?
On my way to buy-bulk-warehouse tonight, I spied a gorgeous sunset to my right. Oh the perks of having my phone handy dandy nearby. (And please note the red light so you know I wasn’t snapping while driving. I mean, that would be dangerous. Especially if one was doing it in the rain. And yeah, this lil’ piggy has NEVER done that. Promise.
) Oh the wonder that He has made and allows us to enjoy. Oh how I love the beautiful sunsets So Cal gets to behold. Hmmm it just dawned on me… instead of taking these photos on my phone from my car, I should be at the beach, with my dSLR(wait, have I named him yet?) snapping away. Oh heart. Such is life.
Pork tenderloin experiment went better than I anticipated. It’s helpful to have a not-so-picky test subject. I’m thinking it would help for me to cook the tender’ with a meat thermometer next time. And FYI, one of us ate four pieces of the tender’ and had to ask the other one of us to take a lil’ walk to the nearby market.
This is what greeted me when I walked out of the office tonight. I love dusk! It was perfect. The air was a perfect balance of warm/cool and it smelled of summer nights. And then it dawned on me that it’s NOVEMBER and the air has no business smelling like summer. So maybe the scent was more what the air would smell like between summer and fall. As summer leaves and ushers fall in. Too bad we’ve been in fall for a while and the weather just hasn’t gotten a clue yet. But either way, it was breathtakingly gorgeous.
